Micro-gratitude
When I do my morning right, I take about five to ten minutes to just thank God for all the amazing friendships, experiences, and things I have in my life. It’s amazing how in those moments I become even more aware of the awesome things happening around me. Like this morning, while I was thanking God, I was far more aware of the gentle breeze floating over my skin, cooling me to a perfect temp. A small gift I almost always over look.
I understand that some have extremely tough lives. I am not someone who is in favor of acting like you have a healthy garden, even tho its covered in weeds. I am, however, an advocate for finding the one flower you can cultivate, protect, and nurture within your garden of weeds.
So I thought of something that truly, almost everyone, at least in our country, can be thankful for: the opportunity for a cold beverage. Think about it…for thousands of years whether it was water, tea, or whatever, almost every drink was warm. But today almost all of us prefer, and have access to, cold drinks. WHAT A GIFT. And often one taken for granted.
It may be silly, but today, if there is nothing else you can be grateful for, while you’re at lunch take a second to be extra thankful for your cold drink.
